The Department of Computer Science and Applications, SKR Government Degree College (Women), Rajamahendravaram, is committed to providing quality computer science education and developing students with strong technical, intellectual, social, and ethical competencies. The department emphasizes both theoretical knowledge and practical skills through an outcome-oriented curriculum supported by bridge courses, seminars, group discussions, remedial coaching, certificate courses, ICT-enabled teaching, guest lectures, digital classes, field visits, and student projects. The department is supported by dedicated faculty, a well-equipped computer laboratory with Internet and projection facilities, and a departmental library with 373 books. Its vision is to promote the holistic development of students, while its mission focuses on creative thinking, collaborative learning, innovative training, and ethical responsibility, particularly in emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence.

Looking ahead, the department aims to upgrade its laboratory facilities, introduce Artificial Intelligence certificate courses through MOOCs, and organize more hands-on workshops to prepare students for rapidly evolving technological and industry requirements.
